6 Green Cleaning and Baby Care Tips

Baby Care can take up much of your time. The feeding, clothing, rocking, and consoling are all part of the job. They can also be very messy. However, it’s unlikely that you’d want to bring harsh cleaners into the nursery or clean out all of your baby’s toys, pacifiers and hygiene products. The green cleaning kit is great to keep baby’s items clean, sanitary and fresh.

When it comes to cleaning your children’s belongings, baking soda is the star. Use a damp sponge sprayed with baking soda to clean your baby’s crib and mattress. Baking soda can also be used on playpens and changing tables. Rinse thoroughly.

Baby toys can quickly become grungy and smelly. Non-cloth toys can be cleaned in the same manner as a mattress or crib. Use a moist sponge or cloth with baking soda to clean them. Rinse and dry well. To clean cloth toys, sprinkle them with baking soda and allow to sit for 15 minutes. Use a handheld vacuum to clean the baking soda.

Hand cleaning toys can be difficult. You can cut down on the amount of time it takes to clean toys by putting a few small stuffed animals in a large plastic bag. Sprinkle some baking soda on top. Make sure the bag is closed tightly so that nothing escapes. Give the bag a shake to coat all Baby Care animals with baking soda.

Baking soda can be used to eliminate any lingering odors from cloth strollers and car seats. After waiting 15 minutes, vacuum well.

You can refresh bottle nipples or bottle brushes overnight by soaking them with 4 tablespoons of baking soda to 1 quart of hot water. Rinse, drain, then rinse and then clean as usual the next morning.

A baby in the house means that there is a lot more laundry, including your own which is often spit up on. You can keep spit-up stains away by using a damp, baking soda-dipped washcloth. You will find that the odor is controlled and the stain won’t set up before you wash your clothes.
